What Is Retail Arbitrage?
Retail arbitrage is all about buying products and selling them for more money. At it’s core, that’s it.
The basic model I’ve followed in my retail arbitrage over the last 18 months has been to buy low at places like Tesco, Argos and Asda and to sell high on Amazon and eBay. It’s an incredible simple model and you’ll probably be surprised at the scale of the opportunities to make money.
My success with retail arbitrage has been possible because of one retailer, Amazon. The majority of my sales have been made on there where customers come to buy quality products with quick, reliable and (usually) free shipping. People pay for the convenience of being able to buy everything in one place.
The thing is, the products available on Amazon are exactly the same as those you can buy from other stores, often for less money. Sometimes for a lot less money.
Let’s take a quick look at what the two words mean. Using “aribtrage” in particular can make things sound much more complicated that they really are.

So retail arbitrage is just about buying products from retail stores (like Tesco, Amazon, Asda or Argos) and selling those products in a different marketplace (like Amazon or eBay).
Can I Really Earn Money With Retail Arbitrage?
The short answer is yes. Yes you can. Above you can see a screenshot of my Amazon sales for my first year doing this. I’m now in my second year and I’m on track to easily double my sales this year.
Opportunities are absolutely everywhere. You’ll probably be surprised at how much extra money people spend by shopping on Amazon.
I started with a hard limit of £300 to spend on stock (and you could definitely get started with less). I only ever reinvested money I made from my sales and paid myself back that £300 within a few months. I never spent more that that original £300 of my own money. I figured, for £300 I can probably afford to give this a go.
Thankfully I’ve never looked back and my business is growing and growing.
